Blue Pelican Software has developed an iPad app that enables lighting sales professionals to quickly create very detailed proposals that can even help clients understand the savings they will get by upgrading their lighting.
For their home page, the primary call to action was to encourage people to sign up for a free trial. We divided up the interior spreads to focus on what exactly the software is, how it works and who would use it. For the What is Hatteras section, we were given a very detailed graphic that described what they did. We turned it into a much simpler and concise graphic that you see on the page. To balance all of the features we created icons to represent each of them. To drive the concept of how the software works home, we put it in the context of how a sales person would use the software while on a sales call. For this site, we did bring in an external copywriter to help with the project since the client did not have anyone in house. The folks we were working with were also engineers by trade, so they knew their writing style would be too technical.
